Quite Funny & Witty

Since my teens, I have a habit of reading multiple books of the same author in a go. It is like a compulsive habit. One book doesn’t seem to satiate my curiosity about the author and his or her work. So, when the first book disappointed me, I quickly downloaded the next one “Mrs Funny Bones” by Twinkle Khanna.

Being a Holi holiday, I had time to read the book comfortably and it turned out to be really nice. This is narrative of just how she is, how she feels and her day to day moments of happiness, embarrassments and learnings.

I am really in awe of the way she is comfortable under her skin and has no inhibitions. What I loved is she comes out to be just as normal as anyone of us and not a superstar kid or wife or celebrity who seems to be much away from the real life. The book is full of instances to which we can easily relate to and many funny moments which we encounter too but could never perceive them the way she has. Through this book, she reiterates the fact that irrespective of social standing or status, mothers all across the globe are more or less the same. They have to indulge in multitasking, willingly or unwillingly and be around to make a home out of house.

The way she comes across through her column in newspaper is the way this book reflects her-absolutely witty and wise. Felt fresh and happy as I completed the read. Quite an incentive for the next read “The Legend of Laxmi Prasad” soon.
