Give

Our housing society organises every year an Annapurna drive.This is a donation drive lead by kids wherein foodgrains are collected from all over the society.These are then transported to various orphanages , old age homes etc .Kids and volunteers accompany.Main aim of this drive is to help the needy and to cultivate the habit of helping amongst kids. It helps in cultivating habit of giving at a tender age.

Giving or offering is such a humble act and so crucial for spreading joy in an environment where there is disparity.Children learn more through example.They are observing and imbibing.Thats why on various occasions and festivals we make it a point to contribute through them.

I have been visiting a physiotherapy centre and observe so many people in pain.But as soon as the physiotherapist arrives she so warmly enquires wellbeing of each and every patient. She patiently listens to all small and big concerns and then proceeds with treatment.I always feel half of recovery happens due to her warmth and affection itself.Somedays are tough for her.Managing personal life with professional practice is not cakewalk for sure but never ever she brings her problems to her work.The selfless service is reflected in relief on her patients face and voice.They are so happy and trust her completely. That's what the magic of giving is I guess.

A friend of mine in pursuit of spirituality introduced me to Lord krishna's teachings and helped me understand what spirituality actually means. By giving me access to a different subject matter helped me find a direction in life for which I can never thank enough.This is the beauty of giving I feel.We can change someone's moment, day or life forever by our humble act.

In a give and take action hand of giver is always above. By giving we rise above and grow as an individual.Even nature teaches us same.Five elements always give and so they are worshipped.

Let us try not to just live but to give - knowledge,love , affection,food,service whatever is possible and grow as human beings.
