Bringing Shri Ram Home

Today as the nation celebrated the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya , the energies and vibes of the entire country seemed to have changed.

Ram means inner radiance and this radiance was experienced all around . So much excitement and joy, lights, crackers, sound of Jai Shri Ram and the temple bells, prayers and prasad.True Indian festive spirit.

Today standing before big poster of Shri Ram in our society brought flood of memories. My early childhood memories include vivid memory of an aged old uncle whom we used to addess as 'ajoba' visiting our home on cycle to collect monthly donation .He used to bring newsletter with him. There used to be many questions playing in my head at that time .Why he rides a cycle, why he comes home for such a meagre donation so sincerely, why he brings the newsletter..I remember my parents lovingly welcoming him, offering him breakfast and having a small conversation which I dint understand. As I grew up I understood he was RSS member and came to collect donation for higher purpose. His commitment to the purpose was exemplary.

I am born and brought up in Nagpur, the birthplace of RSS.Have seen boys and uncles joining the sangh parivaar and in evening attending the shakha. Girls and ladies attending samiti regularly.Sangh swayamsevaks and their discipline and dedication could be seen in various projects and social welfare activities undertaken by them.VHP was formed to bring hindu across the globe together. One of the instances I have faint memory about is an incident when my friends father was to be operated at Pune and bogie full of sevaks accompanied him for donating blood there from Nagpur .At that time I could witness the solidarity and strength of RSS.

In early ninetees there was quite unrest and riots over Ayodhya, Ram mandir and Babri masjid..I was in early teens and could never fully understand what the unrest is all about.I knew aged uncle visiting us monthly is connected to this in some way but what the connection and the whole purpose my mind could never guage . It was the first time I was reading about religions and the differences. Watching Bombay movie in theatre was an adventure and at that time I felt Mumbai is not a place for me. Fast forward 20 years ,I came to Mumbai and saw an entirely different picture. In cosmo societies people of different religions coming together to celebrate all occasions and beliefs.I have seen people respecting sentiments and living in harmony.Undoubtedly many people have worked a lot to bring this peace and culture of inclusiveness.

Few years back when decision of supreme court came I thought it was high time that history needs to be studied a little more. The study made me realize the importance of today's day. Today when our honourable Prime Minister and head of RSS talked about the significance of what it meant to bring Shri Ram home ,every word felt so true and important.

Tolerance, patience, dedication, commitment ,sacrifice always bring the result in a rightful way. Today's day is just to reiterate the fact that truth always prevails.Strong and happy nation is all about commitment to unity and inclusiveness, respecting and trusting the judicial system and promoting equality and tolerance ,sharing and celebrating every moment of joy together and sticking together in gloomy times.

The picture of Ram on the newsletter and today's poster are same but times have changed. This journey and this moment would definitely be memorable and important part of history in times to come.
