Happy New Year 2022

In some hours, the year will change from 2021 to 2022 and in some days we shall get used to 2022. For the last 2 years, have not been able to party as we used to do earlier and I wonder now, Is year change really such a milestone?

2021 was a turning point in many respects. In 2020 the corona fear gripped and brought our lives to a standstill. When we had just adjusted to the pandemic and tried to restart our lives in 2021, a second wave came. This time it was happening without a clue and then it created havoc. All hospitals were full, oxygen was scarce and got a feeling of how helpless we are before nature and the natural force that is operating. Realised the importance of well wishes and prayers. Support of loved ones and support of unknown people can also work wonders in difficult situations. Learnt the importance of patience and being composed." Sab Acha Hoga" was one message I kept reminding myself. We did lose some close people. In fact, many of us did. But life moves on. Gathering all courage and will we are standing strong. Those in jobs with work from home are still managing to be in a zone but those who are going to offices or those who have their businesses have been facing multiple challenges. Business models have changed, companies have been shut, people are jobless and people are embarking upon new ventures. We are all gearing each day for new challenges keeping our positivity alive.

Yes, in a year many things have changed. Our way of socializing, our way of celebrating, our way of looking at life to name a few.

All the medical fraternity who has been taking our care, vaccinating and providing support exposing themselves to all risks are actually angels and no amount of gratitude for them can be enough. After managing both professional and household chores for almost 18 months, I feel house help is just a blessing. I value her one hour work and daily I express my gratitude. My heart is filled with different levels of gratitude and respect for all the house helps, cleaners, security guards. Realised how difficult it must be for these people to do the same work on and on for years relentlessly. We with the power of education have an option to change our life avenues but these people go on doing it. The importance of education whether online or offline can never be understated. Technology has proved that relationships can be nourished over distances too. It has been a boon in this year and a facilitator in many aspects.

Change is inevitable and balance is an integral part of this nature. Life is all about the present moment and that's the only real thing. Our experience as of now is only true. What happened in past has no bearing except for the experiences and lessons learnt. Our future is shaped by the way we live in our present moment. A balance needs to be sought. Anger, fear, resentment are all futile for living the present moment and shaping our beautiful future. Only love and compassion can help us enrich this moment and connect with all for a peaceful future.We are all travellers and every year is just like a station crossed. Sun will rise the same way as it every day does tomorrow. Every day is in fact a chance to write a new chapter, enrich our lives in a new way, be happy and spread love and laughter.

Hope keeps us all going ahead and just changing of year brings a ray of hope and change for many. Extending love and best wishes to all, gratitude to all those who continue to stand with us through ups and downs, praying for wellbeing and peace, ready to welcome a new day with a new date.
